Over the past six months, I’ve undergone a significant transformation through my trainee experiences. I've revisited and revised my journey countless times, reflecting on moments I missed. Along the way, I’ve learned some unexpected, but incredibly powerful lessons about myself. One of the most surprising realizations has been my ability to handle tasks typically seen as "men's jobs" on my own. Sure, I might not have the physical strength to lift 50kg like others, but there’s an undeniable pride in knowing that I can accomplish many things independently.
While I don’t consider myself exceptionally strong, I am proud of my resilience and the fact that I’ve managed to do so much on my own. This isn't about boasting; it’s about recognizing that personal growth often comes from pushing through challenges and doing what seems impossible in the moment.
So, let me share a bit about my journey. I spent six months as a trainee at Top Glove in Kelantan. If you’re passionate about working in environments that involve heat, machinery, factory rounds, and troubleshooting pumps, IETS could be a great field for you. This is just my personal experience, and I understand that supervisors may assign different tasks in other factories. But for anyone considering this path, know that it’s a challenging yet rewarding journey that tests your abilities and pushes you to grow in unexpected ways.
1) Best tak IETS?
All I can say best with experiences!!!
Aku dulu dua orang, Sorang laki sorang perempuan. Kalau sorang kat site, sorang kena duk ofis, haaa bergili- gilir macam tu.
3) Job scope IETS? Ini pengalaman aku ye
- Kena test sample air incoming dan final discharged hari - hari
- Kena belajar repair pump and kenapa pump selalu tak berfungsi (aku kan perempuan haa mcm susah la sikit sbb xde energy haha tapi aku boleh la buat sebab belajar kan, kawan intern laki and workers department ni banyak tolong aku)
- Kena buat training dekat operators (including local dan foreign) tp dont worry foreign workers kat sini mostly pandai cakap melayu hehe
- Kena handle dan monitor Scheduled Waste Disposal (masa ni SV aku suruh aku handle sorang2 and I made mistakes huwaaaaaa nak nangis hahaha tapi takpe belajar)
- Kena pandai cakap and deal dengan suppliers dari luar kilang (nak beli produk dia tapi takut jugak kena tipu haaa kena pandai- pandai la)
- Kau kena masuk line production and check every line , takut ada illegal discharged or effluents kat situ, kalau ada kena inform supervisor kau
- Selalu follow- up dengan geng-geng maintenane and electrical whether dorang dah siapkan ke belum apa yang kita dah assign untuk dorang, tapi jangan push ye cuma follow up (tapi ni susah hahaha kau kena pandai amik hati orang)

Basically, I'm a trainee in Top Glove from IETS departments. First of all, I didn't ask to place myself in this department because I didn't even know what departments available in Top Glove except for the production and R&D field. I've been interviewed by recruiters from headquarters during UniMAP Career Fair. They looked for vacancies during the career fair then I was interested to join.
After 1 month of waiting for the response, alhamdulillah I got the placement in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. The first time on opening up an email from the hiring manager gives me goosebump when I read the line of -"Warmest Greeting from Top Glove". I can't even believe in myself getting the job as a trainee because I am not a good student, my grades aren't that good. But alhamdulillah, it's my time to show my skills, technical skills. Yes, that what I am looking for now and it was happening! I got a really great and challenging experience during my internship programs.
